The Water Technology Subcommittee of the ASME Research andTechnology Committee on Water and Steam in Thermal Systems, hasestablished a Consensus on Best Tube Sampling Practices for Boilers& Nonnuclear Steam Generators. This publication is an importantcompanion to previously published documents prepared to inform andeducate the reader and to develop good chemistry control andoperating practices for steam and water usage in thermalsystems.
The earlier publications are Consensus on Operating Practicesfor the Control of Feedwater and Boiler Water Chemistry in ModernIndustrial Boilers; A Practical Guide to Avoiding SteamPurity Problems in the Industrial Plant; Consensus for theLay-up of Boilers, Turbines, Turbine Condensers, and AuxiliaryEquipment, Consensus on Operating Practices for theSampling and Monitoring of Feedwater and Boiler Water Chemistry inModern Industrial Boilers, and Consensus on OperatingPractices for Control of Water and Steam Chemistry in CombinedCycle and Cogeneration Power Plants.
