This Standard sets forth an engineering procedure deemedappropriate for the determination of the fatigue capacity of apiping component or joint in most services, relative to a standardbutt-welded joint.  The B31 piping Codes provide stressintensification factors for the most common piping components andjoints.  This Standard presents an experimental method todetermine stress intensification factors.
