This part is a service Code to the other Code Sectionsproviding material specifications for nonferrous materials adequatefor safety in the field of pressure equipment. These specificationscontain requirements for chemical and mechanical properties, heattreatment, manufacture, chemical composition, heat and productanalyses, and methods of testing. They are designated by SB numbersand are identical with or similar to those of specificationspublished by ASTM and other recognized national or internationalorganizations.

This publication is issued with an automatic addendaservice.  All addenda service publications are issued in looseleaf format to facilitate later insertion of replacement pageswhich incorporate the latest approved changes to thestandard.  Purchasers may wish to purchase a binder from ASME(BPVC Binder), but the publication will alsofit a standard three ring binder.  The addenda serviceincludes all updates issued prior to publication of the nextedition in July 2013.
