This guide covers test methods for poly(vinyl chloride) resins and vinyl chloride copolymers for use in coatings applications. The test methods listed in Table 1 were tested by interlaboratory participation in accordance with ASTM guidelines. Also included are methods useful to test the suitability of resins for use in fluid nonaqueous vinyl dispersions.

Formerly under the jurisdiction of Committee D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials, and Applications, this guide was withdrawn in June 2005 in accordance with section 10.5.3.1 of the Regulations Governing ASTM Technical Committees, which requires that standards shall be updated by the end of the eighth year since the last approval date.
