Formerly under the jurisdiction of Committee D20 on Plastics, this standard was withdrawn in February 2017 in accordance with section 10.6.3 of the Regulations Governing ASTM Technical Committees, which requires that standards shall be updated by the end of the eighth year since the last approval date.

In recycling PP and LDPE, it is important to the end product properties as well as to the processing conditions to know what the purity of the mixture is. In many cases, it is vital to know that the recycled material is reasonably free of a contaminant.

Note 1—Quantitative determinations require several standard mixtures in the concentration range of interest and well defined baseline anchoring points.
