The procedures outlined here are grounded in the generally accepted body of knowledge and experience in the field of forensic document examination. By following these requirements and procedures, an appropriate trainee (see 5.2) can acquire the scientific, technical, and other specialized knowledge, skill, and experience required to reliably perform the work of a forensic document examiner (E 444).
