This method is for determining benzene, toluene and totalC₈ aromatics in stabilized liquid hydrocarbons. TotalC₉ and heavier (C₉ +) aromatics aredetermined as a composite in samples where non-aromatichydrocarbons do not interfere. Typically, interference is caused byC₁₃ and heavier non-aromatic hydrocarbons. The range ofdetection for a single component is 0.05 to 80 vol-%. Totalaromatics may not exceed 80 vol-%.
