This method is for determining the carbon structure ofC₇ and lower boiling compounds in debutanized olefinicsamples. Complete hydrogenation is accomplished directly in thechromatograph injection system, enabling a carbon structuredetermination to be made. The limit of detection for any singlecarbon structure is 0.1 wt-%. Quantitative results are obtainedthrough the use of an internal standard.
