This method is for determining individual C6 through C10aromatic compounds in petroleum distillates or aromaticconcentrates having a final boiling point of 210°C or lower. C11and heavier aromatics are reported as a group. C10 and heaviernon-aromatics may interfere with the determination of benzene andtoluene. When this occurs, benzene and toluene can be determined byASTM Methods D 5443, D 5580, or D 6839. Other applications for thismethod include the assay of any C10 or lower boiling aromatics,such as benzene, toluene, etc. This method may also be used toprovide a distribution of C8 aromatics and/or C9 and heavieraromatics to a value determined by a different method. When usedfor any of the above applications, the quantitation limit for asingle aromatic component is 0.01 mass-%.
