This method is for determining platinum in fresh gamma-aluminacatalysts containing rhenium but not molybdenum. Elements thatproduce colored ions in the color-development step, such asrhenium, constitute a positive interference, however, compensationfor these interfering elements is made with an isoamyl acetateextraction. Concentrations of silica up to approximately 150 ppm donot interfere.
