This International Standard prescribes safety signs for the purposes of accident prevention, fire protection, health hazard information and emergency evacuation.
The shape and colour of each safety sign are according to ISO 3864-1 and the design of the graphical symbols is according to ISO 3864-3.
This International Standard is applicable to all locations where safety issues related to people need to be addressed. However, it is not applicable to the signalling used for guiding rail, road, river, maritime and air traffic and, in general, to those sectors subject to a regulation which may differ with regard to certain points of this International Standard and of the ISO 3864 series.
This International Standard specifies the safety sign originals that may be scaled for reproduction and application purposes.
Diese Internationale Norm legt Sicherheitszeichen fest, die für den Zweck der Unfallverhütung, des Brandschutzes, des Schutzes vor Gesundheitsgefährdungen und für Fluchtwege angewendet werden.
Die Form und Farbe der Sicherheitszeichen entsprechen ISO 3864-1 und die Gestaltung der graphischen Symbole entspricht ISO 3864-3.
Diese Internationale Norm gilt für alle Stellen und Bereiche, an denen Sicherheitsfragen für Personen geregelt werden müssen. Sie gilt nicht für die Zeichengebung im Eisenbahn-, Straßen-, Binnenschiffs-, See- und Luftverkehr; allgemein gesagt, nicht in solchen Bereichen, die von dieser Internationalen Norm und der Normen der Reihe ISO 3864 abweichenden Regelungen unterliegen.
Diese Internationale Norm legt die Sicherheitszeichen-Urbilder fest, die für die Reproduktion und Anwendung in der Größe angepasst werden können.
