This ASME Standard covers on-shore, gas pipeline systemsconstructed with ferrous materials, including pipe, valves,appurtenances attached to pipe, compressor units, meteringstations, regulator stations, delivery stations, holders andfabricated assemblies. Its principles, processes and approachesapply to the entire system for all pipeline systems.
ASME B31.8S is specifically designed to provide the operator withthe information necessary to develop and implement an effectiveintegrity management program utilizing proven industry practicesand processes. Effective system management can decreaserepair and replacement costs, prevent malfunctions, and minimizesystem downtime.
Key changes to this version include updates to the integrityassessment intervals table, performance plan section, andnon-mandatory appendix A.
