This test method covers the measurement of turbidity of clear liquids. It is applicable to resin solutions, solvents, clear coatings, monomers, and any other liquids where clarity is specified. This test method should be used only for comparison of clarity of similar materials, and not to obtain absolute values for turbidity.

Formerly under the jurisdiction of Committee D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials, and Applications, this test method was withdrawn in March 2007 in accordance with section 10.5.3.1 of the Regulations Governing ASTM Technical Committees, which requires that standards shall be updated by the end of the eighth year since the last approval date.

1.1 This test method covers the measurement of turbidity of clear liquids. It is applicable to resin solutions, solvents, clear coatings, monomers, and any other liquids where clarity is specified. This test method should be used only for comparison of clarity of similar materials, and not to obtain absolute values for turbidity.
