Описание
Причина отменыFormerly under the jurisdiction of Committee E34 on Occupational Health and Safety, this guide was withdrawn in January 2008 in accordance with section 10.5.3.1 of the Regulations Governing ASTM Technical Committees, which requires that standards shall be updated by the end of the eighth year since the last approval date.Область применения

1.1 This standard offers a guide for a medical surveillance program for workers with potential for routine occupational exposure to airborne respirable silicon carbide whiskers and fibers.

1.2 This guide is not intended to replace existing medical examinations offered by an employer but is instead to serve as a supplement for further evaluating pulmonary function and disease in a consistent manner.

1.3 This guide is intended to establish baseline values prior to occupational exposure to airborne silicon carbide whiskers and fibers and also periodic monitoring of pulmonary function and disease.

1.4 Application of this guide may be superseded by future OSHA regulations regarding man-made mineral fibers or respirable durable fibers.

1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
