This method is for determining total mercury in liquidhydrocarbons using a Nippon Instruments Corporation (NIC) MercuryAnalyzer. The lower limit of quantitation is 0.3 ng/mL (m/v-ppb).The results can be converted to mass-ppb. Appendix A contains aprocedure, Determination of Mercury Species in Hydrocarbons, whichcan be used to differentiate between elemental mercury, organicnon-ionic mercury and ionic (both inorganic and organic) mercuryspecies. Appendix B contains an alternative procedure for totalmercury in liquid hydrocarbons, using different equipment from thesame manufacturer.
