The International Code Council (ICC) is a nonprofit organizationdedicated to the development of a single set of comprehensive andcoordinated national codes. The 2003 International CodesComplete Set will make it easier and more cost-effective forbuilding professionals to comply with U.S. code requirements andwill present a single set of codes and standards for internationalbuilders and suppliers

These codes have been adopted by the Building Officials and CodeAdministrators International (BOCA), the Southern Building CodeCongress International (SBCCI), and the International Conference ofBuilding Officials (ICBO), and replace the various codes previouslyissued by these organizations. The release of the InternationalCodes is one of the greatest milestones in code developmenthistory

International Building Code (IBC)--based on years ofcombined experience and technical expertise of the 3 model codegroups: BOCA, SBCCI, and ICBO. It features time-tested safetyconcepts, updated means of egress, interior finish requirements,comprehensive roof provisions, seismic engineering provisions,innovative construction technology, revamped structural provisions,reorganized occupancy classifications, and the latest industrystandards in material design. International Fire Code (IFC)--stemming from a solidfoundation of proven fire-code provisions and standards, thesecodes have been developed by a broad-based committee of firechiefs, fire marshals, and members of the fire service/protectionindustry. The IFC extends far beyond maintenance and containsregulations relating to the construction of buildings andfacilities. Also available individually.

International Residential Code for One- and Two-FamilyDwellings--replaces the CABO One- and Two- Family DwellingCode, and reflects the latest technological advances in buildingdesign and construction. Among technical changes are new provisionsfor prescriptive steel framing and energy criteria. This code, acompanion to the IBC, also contains mechanical, fuel gas, andplumbing provisions that coordinate with the IMC, IFGC, and theIPC. Also available individually.

International Energy Conservation Code (IECC)--addressesthe design of energy-efficient building envelopes and theinstallation of energy-efficient mechanical, lighting and powersystems though requirements emphasizing performance. Thiscomprehensive code establishes minimum regulations forenergy-efficient buildings using prescriptive andperformance-related provisions. It makes possible the use of newmaterials and innovative techniques that conserve energy.

International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC)--provides model coderegulations that safeguard public health and safety in large andsmall communities. It addresses the need for an up-to-date gas codethat features the design and installation of fuel gas systems andgas-fired appliances through requirements that emphasizeperformance.

International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC)--focuseson clear and specific property maintenance requirements thatregulate interior and exterior building facilities. Provisions ofthis code apply to existing residential and nonresidentialstructures and their premises. It provides requirements forcontinued use and maintenance of plumbing, mechanical, electric andfire protection systems.

International Private Sewage Disposal Code(IPSDC)--published as a companion document to IPC, the IPSDCprovides flexibility in the development of safe and sanitaryindividual sewage disposal systems and includes detailed provisionsfor all aspects of design, installation, and inspection of privatesewage disposal systems.

International Zoning Code (IZC)--provides jurisdictionswith a means of promoting uniformity and consistency in zoning lawsand their enforcement. IZC is an excellent resource forjurisdictions that do not currently have a zoning code or areoperating with one the is outdated. This code is a tool for cityplanners, building officials, and other government officials, andis a must for developers and architects.

International Plumbing Code (IPC)--features consistentrequirements that can be used across the country to providecomprehensive regulation of plumbing systems. While setting minimumregulations for plumbing facilities in terms of both performanceand prescriptive objectives, the IPC provides for the acceptance ofnew and innovative products, materials, and systems. Topics includewater, sizing, vent sizing, and drain waste.

International Mechanical Code (IMC)--establishes minimumregulations for mechanical systems using prescriptive andperformance related provisions. It is founded on broad-basedprinciples that make possible the use of new materials and newmechanical designs.
