A review of the state-of-the-art of microbiology influencedcorrosion (MIC) testing in the early 1990s. Many industrial needsin the area of MIC testing are identified in these papers alongwith the latest laboratory and field testing techniques. Strategiesto monitor and control corrosion and biofouling in waterdistribution systems, underground pipelines, buildings, and marinevessels are discussed. From this a consensus emerges on how toevaluate and reliably simulate microbiological factors in realsystems and laboratory tests.
