This Standard covers complete general and dimensional data forvarious types of hexagon and spline (luted) socket cap screws,shoulder screws, set screws, and hexagon and spline keys. Also included are appendices that provide specifications forhexagon and spline socket gages and gaging, tables showingapplicability of keys and bits to various socket screws types andsizes, drill and couterbore sizes for socket head cap screws, andformulas on which dimensional data are based. However, wherequestions arise concerning acceptance of product, the dimensions inthe tables shall govern over recalculation by formula.
The inclusion of dimensional data in this Standard is not intendedto imply that all of the products described are stock productionsizes. Consumers should consult with manufacturers concerning listsof stock production sizes.
