The structure and the deck should be evaluated, and found to be mechanically sound, able to accept the weight of the sheet and overburden, and meet the local building code requirements. Though not addressed here, the deck should be sloped to drain with a drainage media or layer above the membrane. Delivery, storage, and handling of materials, environmental conditions, and substrate preparation are dealt with as well.
