This European Standard applies to the magnetic particle inspection of ferro-magnetic iron and steel castings.
It also gives acceptance criteria through severity levels defined by the nature, the area and the dimensions of
the discontinuities present.
This standard applies to all ferro-magnetic castings independent of the moulding method.
An iron or steel casting is considered to be ferro-magnetic if the magnetic induction is greater than 1 T (Tesla)
for a magnetic field strength of 2,4 kA1m.
This standard only applies to those areas of the castings specified for inspection and the percentage of castings
to be inspected.
Diese Norm beschreibt ein Verfahren zur Magnetpulverprüfung von Oberflächenfehlern an ferromagnetischen Gußstücken aus Gußeisen und Stahl. Weiters enthält sie Abnahmekriterien mit Hilfe von Gütestufen, die nach Art, Bereich und Abmessungen der vorliegenden Fehler definiert sind. Diese Norm gilt für alle Gußstücke aus ferromagnetischen Werkstoffen, unabhängig vom Formverfahren. Ein Gußstück aus Gußeisen oder Stahl wird als ferromagnetisch betrachtet, wenn die magnetische Induktion größer als 1 T (Tesla) bei einer magnetischen Feldstärke von 2,4 kA/m ist. Diese Norm gilt nur für solche Bereiche der Gußstücke, für welche eine Prüfung festgelegt ist, und für den zu prüfenden Prozentsatz der Gußstücke.
