This European Standard specifies the requirements for marking of industrial metallic valves. It defines the method
of applying the markings, on the body, on a flange, on an identification plate or any other location.
When specified as a normative reference in a valve product or performance standard, this standard has to be
considered in conjunction with the specified requirements of that valve product or performance standard.
The marking requirements for plastic valves are not within the scope of this standard.
Für das Kennzeichnen von Industriearmaturen für allgemeine Verwendung sind entsprechende Regeln festgelegt. Es werden die Kennzeichen angegeben, die unbedingt anzubringen sind und solche die wahlweise angebracht werden können. Die Art und Weise der Anbringung ist beschrieben. Es werden keine Aussagen darüber getroffen, welche Kennzeichen bei den einzelnen Bauarten von Armaturen vorhanden sein müssen; diese Angaben werden in den entsprechenden Produktnormen vorgeschrieben.
