This standard specifies a method of checking the ability of optical connection elements (including permanent
connections) and fibre optic couplers or specimens of the materials used in the manufacture and termination
of optical components, to withstand mould or fungus growth without deterioration.
It shall be used together with EN 2591-100.
Diese Norm legt ein Verfahren zum Nachweis der Widerstandsfähigkeit von optischen Verbindungselementen (einschließlich dauerhafter Verbindungen) und LWL-Kopplern oder von Proben der für die Herstellung und den Anschluss von optischen Bauelementen verwendeten Werkstoffe gegenüber Schimmel- oder Pilzbefall fest, ohne dass eine Zustandsverschlechterung eintritt. Sie ist in Verbindung mit EN 2591-100 anzuwenden.
