1.1 This International Standard specifies four methods for the determination of the Vicat softening
temperature (VST) of thermoplastic materials:

1.2 The methods specified are applicable only to thermoplastics, for which they give a measure of the
temperature at which the thermoplastics start to soften rapidly.

Diese Norm legt vier Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Vicat-Erweichungstemperatur (VST) von Thermoplasten fest: - Methode A50 mit einer Kraft von 10 N und einer Heizrate von 50 °C/h - Methode B50 mit einer Kraft von 50 N und einer Heizrate von 50 °C/h - Methode A120 mit einer Kraft von 10 N und einer Heizrate von 120 °C/h - Methode B120 mit einer Kraft von 50 N und einer Heizrate von 120 °C/h Die festgelegten Verfahren sind nur auf Thermoplaste anwendbar, für welche sie eine Kennzahl der Temperatur liefern, bei der die Thermoplaste schnell zu erweichen beginnen.
