This part of ISO 5264 specifies a method, using a PFI mill, for the laboratory beating of pulp. The description is
limited to the sampling and beating of the pulp, the withdrawal and distribution of samples, and the beating
equipment.
NOTE Beating is a preliminary step in testing the physical properties of pulp.
In principle, this method is applicable to all kinds of chemical and semi-chemical pulps. In practice, the method may
not give satisfactory results with certain pulps having extremely long fibres.
Die labortechnische Mahlung von Zellstoff wird weltweit hauptsächlich mit 3 verschiedenen Systemen durchgeführt: - Valley beater, - PFI-Mühle, - Jokro-Mühle. Da ein international einheitliches Verfahren auf einer dieser Anlagen derzeit nicht erwartet werden kann, legt Teil 2 dieser Europäischen Norm die Methode der Labormahlung unter Verwendung einer PFI-Mühle fest und folgt dabei der Internationalen Norm ISO 5264-2 "Pulps - Laboratory beating - Part 2: PFI mill method". Die Mahlsysteme "Valley beater" und "Jokro-Mühle" werden in den Teilen 1 bzw. 3 von EN 25264 beschrieben.
