Formerly under the jurisdiction of Committee F17 on Plastic Piping Systems, this specification was withdrawn in January 2014 in accordance with section 10.6.3 of the Regulations Governing ASTM Technical Committees, which requires that standards shall be updated by the end of the eighth year since the last approval date.

The requirements of this specification are intended to provide pipe and fittings suitable for nonpressure drainage of sewage, surface water, and certain other liquid wastes, in applications outside the building limits. Pipe produced by simultaneous multiple coextrusion shall be classified as “Coex.” Flattening, impact resistance, joint tightness, and pipe stiffness tests shall be performed to conform with specified requirements.
