Formerly under the jurisdiction of Committee D09 on Electrical and Electronic Insulating Materials, this specification was withdrawn in March 2020. This standard is being withdrawn without replacement because it is no longer being maintained.
РефератThis specification covers friction tapes that are commonly used for protecting, and binding in place, insulation applied to joints of electrical wires and cables, and for other mechanical purposes. The tape shall consist of a woven fabric sheeting impregnated with a frictioning compound (an adhesive insulating compound), cut into rolls of narrow width and wound on a core. Friction tapes shall meet the prescribed requirements such as adhesion, aged adhesion, breaking strength, breakdown voltage, parallelism, and tackiness. The specified dimensional requirements includes nominal width, thickness, and length. The aging and storage requirements as well as the test methods to determine conformance to the prescribed requirements are given.
Область применения1.1 This specification covers friction tapes that are commonly used for protecting, and binding in place, insulation applied to joints of electrical wires and cables, and for other mechanical purposes.
1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values in parentheses are for information only.
