PE materials for pipe are categorized by short-term and long-term strength tests. Materials shall meet the requirements of basic PE grades. Test methods for pipe shall include dimensions, tolerances, sustained pressure, burst pressure, carbon black content, density, and elevated temperature test. Joints and couplings shall withstand the design maximum working pressures. Plastic fittings shall meet all the dimensional and quality requirements.
