This European Standard is concerned only with terms used specifically in acoustic emission testing (AT) and these fall into four parts:
a) terms relating to the physical phenomenon;
b) terms relating to the detection of the acoustic emission;
c) terms relating to the measured characteristics of the signal(s);
d) terms relating to acoustic emission applications.
Diese Europäische Norm betrifft nur Begriffe, die speziell auf dem Gebiet der Schallemissionsprüfung (en: acoustic emission testing, AT) verwendet werden, und diese sind in vier Gruppen eingeteilt:
a) Begriffe in Bezug auf das physikalische Phänomen;
b) Begriffe in Bezug auf den Nachweis von Schallemission;
c) Begriffe, die sich auf die gemessenen Merkmale des (der) Signals (Signale) beziehen;
d) Begriffe in Bezug auf die Anwendungen der Schallemission.
