This draft European Standard specifies a method for the determination of up to approximately 2
milli-equivalents of tertiary arnine oxide. Components which lose their basicity in reaction with
acetic anhydride by forming an amide (e.g. primary and secondary amines) interfere. If present,
these primary and secondary amines should be determined by a different procedure e.g. reaction
with carbonsuifide.
The rnethod is applicable to solids or to aqueous solutions of the aciive material. The molecqlar
mass of the amine oxide shall be known if its content is expressed as a percsntage of mass.
Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung von etwa 2 Milliäquivalenten tertiärer
Aminoxide fest. Komponenten, die durch Reaktion mit Essigsäure-anhydrid ihre Basizität verlieren
durch Amidbildung (2.B. primäre und sekundäre Amine), stören. Sind diese primären und
sekundären Amins anwesend, so sind sie mit einem anderen Verfahren zu erfassen, z.B. durch
Reaktion m i t Schwefel ko h lenst Off.
Das Verfahren ist anwendbar auf Feststoffe oder wäßrige Lösungen der Aktivsubstanz. Wenn der
Gehalt als Massenanteil in Prozent angegeben wird, muß die Molmasse des Aminoxids bekannt
sein.
