This first part of EN 301 067 specifies the stage three of the connection characteristics negotiation during
call/connection establishment phase service for the pan-European Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network
(B-ISDN) as provided by European public telecommunications operators at the TB reference point or coincident SB and
TB reference point (as defined in ITU-T Recommendation I.413 [1]) by means of the Digital Subscriber Signalling
System No. two (DSS2) protocol. Stage three identifies the protocol and procedures and switching functions needed to
support a telecommunication service (see ITU-T Recommendation I.130 [2]).
In addition, the present document specifies the protocol requirements at the TB reference point where the service is
provided to the user via a private B-ISDN.
The present document does not specify the additional protocol requirements where the service is provided to the user via
a telecommunications network that is not a B-ISDN.
The present document specifies the signalling protocol to negotiate the cell rate traffic parameters that are specified in
ITU-T Recommendations Q.2931 and Q.2961.1 as modified by EN 300 443-1 [5] and EN 301 068-1 [7], respectively,
for basic call/connection control. The capability described in the present document is also applicable for negotiating the
connection characteristics for the first party of a point-to-multipoint call/connections as specified in ITU-T
Recommendation Q.2971 as modified by ETS 300 771-1 [6]. The capabilities in the present document are only
applicable during the call/connection establishment phase.
Further parts of the present document specify the method of testing required to identify conformance to the present
document.
The present document is applicable to equipment, supporting connection characteristics negotiation during
call/connection establishment phase, to be attached at either side of a TB reference point or co (...abbreviated)
