This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for the construction, safety,
marking and rational use of energy of independent gasfired convection heating appliances,
hereafter referred to as appliances.
This standard is applicable to types B11AS, B11BS, B11CS (commonly referred to in this standard as
type B1 appliances) and type C11 independent convection heating appliances burning gas:
that incorporate a natural draught burner;
that are connected directly to an open flue or to a device to evacuate the products of
combustion (openflued appliances, balancedflued appliances);
that are wall mounted, freestanding or builtin;
that have a nominal heat input not exceeding 20 kW (based on the net calorific value).
In addition, this standard is applicable to live fuel effect appliances.
This standard is not applicable to:
open fronted appliances as specified in prEN 13278;
decorative fuel effect appliances as specified in EN 509;
catalytic combustion appliances;
appliances in which the supply of combustion air and/or evacuation of products of
combustion is achieved by mechanical means;
ductedair appliances;
appliances installed by means of a closure plate (see 3.3.3.3).
This standard is only applicable to appliances which are intended to be type tested.
Matters related to quality assurance systems, tests during production and to certificates of
conformity of auxiliary devices are not dealt with by this standard.
Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen und Prüfbestimmungen für Bau, Sicherheit, Kennzeichnung
und rationelle Energienutzung von Konvektions-Raumheizern für gasförmige Brennstoffe
fest, im folgenden als Gerät bezeichnet.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt für gasbeheizte Konvektions-Raumheizer der Arten B11AS, B11BS und
B11CS (in dieser Norm B1 - Gerät genannt) und C11:
mit atmosphärischem Brenner;
die direkt oder mittels Zwischenstück an einem Schornstein oder an eine Einrichtung zur Abführung
der Abgase angeschlossen sind (schornsteingebundene Geräte, Außenwand-Geräte);
die an der Wand befestigt, freistehend oder eingebaut sind;
die eine Nennwärmeleistung kleiner oder gleich 20 kW (bezogen auf den Heizwert) haben.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt auch für Geräte mit Kaminfeuereffekt.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für
Geräte mit offener Verbrennungskammer;
Geräte mit dekorativem Brennstoffeffekt gemäß prEN 509;
Geräte mit katalytischer Verbrennung;
Geräte mit mechanischer Verbrennungsluftzu- und/oder Abgasabführung;
Warmlufterzeuger;
Geräte, die mit einer Verschlußplatte installiert werden (siehe 3.3.3.3).
Die vorliegende Europäische Norm gilt für Geräte, die für eine Baumusterprüfung
vorgesehen sind.
Fragen im Zusammenhang mit Qualitätssicherung, Kontrollprüfungen während der Produktion und
Konformitätszertifikate von Hilfsgeräten werden nicht in dieser Norm behandelt.
