This part of ISO 11979 is applicable to any intraocular lens (IOL) whose primary indication is the modification of the refractive power of a phakic eye, but excludes phakic IOLs (PIOLs) that utilize multifocal or other simultaneous vision optics to address presbyopic loss of accommodation and PIOLs that correct astigmatism.
This part of ISO 11979 addresses specific requirements for PIOLs not addressed in the other parts of ISO 11979.
Dieser Teil der Internationalen Norm gilt für Intraokularlinsen (IOL), deren primäre Aufgabe die Modifikation der Brechkraft eines phaken Auges ist; phake IOL (PIOL), die mulitfokale oder sonstige Optiken für Simultansehen zum Ausgleich eines presbyopen Akkomodationsverlustes einsetzen, sowie PIOL zur Korrektion von Astigmatismus liegen jedoch nicht im Anwendungsbereich dieser Norm. Die Norm enthält besondere Anforderungen an PIOL, die in den übrigen Teilen der ÖNORM EN ISO 11979 nicht enthalten sind.
