This Technical Specification gives terms and definitions for materials in the field of nanotechnologies where one or more components are nanoscale regions and the materials exhibit properties attributable to the presence of those nanoscale regions. It is intended to facilitate communications between organizations and individuals in industry and those who interact with them.
Materials have topographical or compositional features at the nanoscale, but this is not sufficient to classify the material as nanostructured. Materials classified as nanostructured have an internal or surface structure with a significant fraction of features, grains, voids or precipitates in the nanoscale. Articles that contain nano-objects or nanostructured materials are not necessarily nanostructured materials themselves.
This Technical Specification includes nanodispersion.
In dieser Technischen Spezifikation sind Begriffe für Materialien auf dem Gebiet der Nanotechnologie angeführt, wobei einer Komponente oder mehreren Komponenten nanoskalige Bereiche zugeordnet sind; die Materialien zeigen Eigenschaften, die auf das Vorhandensein dieser Bereiche im Nanomaßstab zurückzuführen sind. Die Materialien haben topographische oder kompositorische Merkmale im Nanomaßstab, was jedoch nicht ausreicht, das Material als nanostrukturiert zu klassifizieren. Materialien, die als nanostrukturiert bezeichnet werden, haben in ihrer inneren Struktur oder in ihrer Oberflächenstruktur einen signifikanten Anteil an nanoskaligen Merkmalen, Körnern, Hohlräumen oder Ausscheidungen. Erzeugnisse, die herstellungsbedingt Nanoobjekte oder nanostrukturierte Materialien enthalten, müssen nicht selber nanostrukturierte Materialien sein.
Diese Technische Spezifikation schließt Nanodispersion ein.
