This European Standard specifies performance requirements for battery powered pumps used for personal
sampiing of chemical agents in the workplace atrnosphere. It also specifies the methods of laboratory type
testing for determination of the performance characteristics under prescribed laboratory conditions.
This European Standard is applicable to purnps whose nominal volumetric flow rate is within the range 5 mflrnin
to 5 Ilmin and which are used together with sampling devices typical for such flow rates for the sampling of
gases, vapours, dusts, fumes, mists and fibres.
This European Standard is not applicable to pumps with a flow rate outside this range or for pumps which are
used with sampling devices whose flow resistance significantly exceeds the values for back pressure listed in
4.6 and 4.7.
This European Standard is equally applicable to pumps with a constant flow rate and to stroke pumps with a
constant stroke volume.
Sampling purnps are classified according to their intended use:
- Type P: pumps for personal sampling of particulate matter;
- Type G: pumps for personal sampling of gases and vapours.
Behandelt sind Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für die Bestimmung der Verfahrenskenngrößen von Pumpen, die zur personenbezogenen Probenahme von chemischen Stoffen in der Luft am Arbeitsplatz verwendet werden. Die Festlegungen gelten für batteriebetriebene Pumpen, die für die personenbezogene Probenahme von chemischen Stoffen in der Arbeitsplatzatmosphäre vorgesehen sind. Verfahrenskenngrößen und Verfahren für die Typ-Prüfung dieser Pumpen unter festgelegten Laborbedingungen sind ebenfalls angegeben. Die Pumpen arbeiten mit einem Nenn-Volumenstrom im Bereich von 5 ml/min bis 5 l/min und werden zusammen mit einer Probenahme-Einrichtung verwendet, die für solche Volumenströme typisch ist und mit der Gase, Dämpfe, Stäube, Rauche, Nebel und Fasern gesammelt werden.
